Missing everyone already!

This month is a very big month for our family. Three of the siblings and their kids are moving this month. My poor mom... Anyway, Brooks and Meg are moving to Virginia (or is it West, I can't ever remember), Sarah and TJ moved to Ely, Nevada, and we're moving to our new home soon. The movers are coming to get our stuff this week and I'm kinda freaking out. Not that I don't want to move, I do. It's just a HUGE move for our family. I said goodbye to my sibs already and I just want them to know how much I will miss them. I love you guys all so much!! I will miss being able to see you all as much and watching your kids grow (other than pictures that is). I think you are all wonderful people and I am glad that we are a forever family. Love you!!!

A monumentus first!!

It's Awesome!!! Rhys gave me his first smile yesterday!!! I've seen him smile before, but he's not conscious when he does it. But yesterday, we were sitting there, I was smiling at him, and he gave me the cutest toothless smile you've ever seen in your life!! Probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen. It's amazing how exciting a smile can be once you become a mom. Life is good.

So very mysterious...

So Scott was nagging me to change this blog. I can say that because I know he reads this blog (I love you Scott!!) Anyway, Scott's job has some potential to put his family in danger if he comes across the wrong people. So I'm supposed to keep what he does for work on the DL so that no one can find out info about us on the internet. Apparently you can just Google someone's name and find out loads about them. So we just have to be careful about what we write on here so that people can't find out too much. So I've taken out any info about where we are going and any time where I typed his first and last name together. If you find anywhere I missed let me know so I can change it. It sounds very dramatic, I know, but you never know what will happen in the future and it may keep us safe one day.

An Update... Finially!!!

It's crazy to me how one can be so busy and still get nothing done!! Sometimes the only thing I have to show for my day is the fact that Rhys is still alive and kicking. It's been a good couple of weeks though. It's been awesome being able to hang out with and get to know my son. Here are some cute pictures of him. He's way cuter now that he's starting to grow out of that wacky newborn baby wierdness.

Scott and his son

Scott was able to come home this weekend to meet Rhys. He got here at like 12:30 Saturday morning and left at about 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Not a long visit but better than nothing. It is so funny to see Scott change a diaper. He looks as insecure about it as I feel. They are so cute together but Scott can't wait until he gets a little older and can play with him. Babies this age are pretty boring for dads.

We decided to have Rhys blessed last Sunday before Scott left. We found out that we have to be in Washington DC for 2 months before we go to where we are going and that starts the day after Scott graduates the academy. So he wouldn't be able to come home in between. So, although we wanted everybody to be there and have a huge circle, it was more important that Scott be able to bless his son and not have everyone there than have someone else do it.

Ok, it ended!!!!

Well I was supposed to be induced on Saturday but Rhys decided to join our family a little early. I had a doctors appointment Tuesday morning and I was 2 cm dialated. On the way home from the appointment I started having contractions. Once we got home (which takes about an hour, by the way) I started keeping track of contractions. About 4 o'clock we decided we probably better head back into town to the hospital. It was the longest ride of my life!! I swear Jane was driving under the speed limit the whole time and we were hitting every red light. When we got there and they checked me I was at a 4 (which meant I was far enough along for an epidural). Oh glorious drugs!!!! We love epidurals, unfortunately it wasn't really working the whole time. For the 3 HOURS I was pushing I felt every contraction. The reason it took so long was because he was turned the wrong way. He was facing the side instead of down so he was stuck behind my pubic bone. My doctor tried to turn him manually but then we had to go for the suction. They had to stick the suction cup to his head and tried to pull him out. Even with the suction he still wasn't coming. We decided to try one more time and if that didn't work we were going to have to do C-section. At that point, I really didn't care, I just wanted him out!!! Luckily the last time worked, he was born at 11:50 pm on Tuesday. He is so beautiful even though the suction did wierd things to his head. He was 8 pounds 11 ounces, 20 3/4 inches long, with a 14 1/2 inch head. He's got a huge noggin. He's so good too. He really only cries when you change his diaper. He also really likes to sleep in my bed with me, which I think is cute now and I like, but I realize I have to change that habit, like now. Anyway, he's here now. We named him Rhys D'Albini Dahlstrom (D'Albini is a family name and it was better than Rufus). We're home now and Scott gets here tonight and will finally be able to meet his son!
