Saying Goodbye

It was bittersweet saying goodbye to Puerto Rico.  The sweet was leaving Puerto Rico, the bitter was having to leave good friends.  We will miss everybody there.  We made some really awesome friends.  The Mortensen's were going to leave right after us and they had a farewell dinner at Camino del Mar.  It was nice to get together and say goodbye to everyone.  This is Nikki Bybee.  I love her.  She makes the best cookies ever.  Her son Ike and Rhys are buddies.  He asks about Ike sometimes.

A few days before we left a group of us got together for another farewell lunch.  It was really nice.  They girls made us a sweet plaque and all signed the back of it.  It says "Truly great friends are Hard to find, Difficult to leave, and Impossible to forget." I though it was really sweet of the girls to make that for our family.

We miss everybody already.

Crashboat Beach

Scott had to do some work in Aguadilla for a couple days, so after Josh left, he wanted the kids and I to come out and see him.  The hotel they were staying at had a really cool pool with water slides and fountains.  The kids had a great time playing while Scott was working.

The kids always think it's exciting to stay in a hotel room.

The next morning we went out to Crashboat.  It was awesome.  The water was so smooth.  The snorkeling was really good for seeing fish that day.  One guy was out there spearfishing.  I watched him for a while to see if he would get anything, but the big fish here too deep for him to get.  I didn't see any shells to collect, but I did score a pair of sunglasses off the bottom!

He's getting pretty brave when it comes to water.  He did this a couple times.

Getting ready

In he goes.  He said it was really hard to get back onto the dock from there.  Somebody put a sheet with knots in it to climb up.  He said it was awkward to climb.

Elsa and her "O" face.  She was doing it a lot for a while there.  It cracks me up.

Playing catch up- Elsa's birthday

It's been so long since I blogged.  I have a lot to catch up on.  Firtst off, Elsa had a birthday!  My friend Ann and I have little girls really close together so we decided to do a combined birthday party for them.  Ann did most of it and I kinda just showed up. She did an awesome job planning and the kids all had such a good time.

Party time!!!

Goofy faces.

Brinlee loves Elsa.  She always wants to take care of her.

Lovely Ladies! Jackie, Miranda, Heather and Amy.

Ann made the girls each a cake for them to dive into.  Katherine was WAY into it.  Elsa really was not.  It was weird.  SHe didn't want to get into it at all.

I love the face plant into the cake.

Chillin' by the pool

Josh Visits and the Beach Apartment

So we moved out of of our house.  It was weird and sad and awesome at the same time.  We stayed our last month in Isla Verde right on the beach.  While we were there my cousin Josh came for a visit.  We loved having him there with us.  It was nice because it forced us to get out and do awesome things one last time.  We love Josh.  He's awesome.

Here's our apartment.  It was literally right on the beach.  It was sooooo much cooler than our house was.  If I had known how much nicer it could have been we might have thought about moving from Dorado at some point.  It was really fun to sit on the balcony and watch people (you all know I'm a people watcher) It did have it's drawbacks though.  Every Sunday was ridiculously noisy.  People love to party on Sundays.

Here's the view.  Awesome.

While Josh was with us we did fun stuff.  We rented a boat and drove it around the ocean.  We tried to find snorkeling spots, but didn't find much.  It was fun to scoot around and jump out of the boat into the ocean.

Elsa annoying Rhys.

It was really shallow and calm so we could take the kids out and let them swim around.

There's a random swim area off one of the islands that we swam in.  Josh had fun doing backflips off the dock.

We took a trip out to Vieques.  We tried to get to Culebra but all the ferries were full.  It was good though because I hadn't been out the Vieques yet.  Definitely not as cool at Culebra.  I was somewhat disapointed  in it, but I'm still glad we got to go.

On our way!  I'm kind of a dork.  I've accepted this.

So we're hanging out by the beach grilling.  We found a bunch of conch shells and decided to cook them on the grill (to kill the critter inside, and you don't want to do in in your house cause they stiiiiinnnkk!!)

Our shells are cooking away in the blue tub.  It was Sunday so it was a crazy party on the beach.  We had a good time.

Dinner on the beach.

Rhys loves Josh.  Josh is introducing Rhys to the wonderful world of YouTube.  He was sad when Josh left.  We were glad he came!
